The Talibung: A Blade Shaped by Tradition
Rooted in the blade-making heritage of the Philippines, the Talibung is a traditional Filipino sword recognized for its broad cutting profile, forward balance, and authoritative presence. Hand-forged from high-carbon steel, the blade features a standard forged finish with a clean, natural steel appearance and a sharpened edge designed for efficient cutting and control.
The handle and scabbard are crafted from indigenous hardwood sourced from the Southern Philippines, valued for its strength, stability, and natural grain. The handle is shaped for a secure, confident grip, allowing the blade’s forward weight to be managed comfortably and effectively in hand.
The matching hardwood scabbard follows the blade’s natural curvature and is fitted with a belt-loop configuration designed for left-hand draw from a right-hip carry position, consistent with traditional Filipino carry practices.
Strong, balanced, and purposeful, the Talibung has long been respected as a blade that reflects both practical function and regional tradition within Filipino martial culture.
Proudly handmade in the Southern Philippines.
