The Ginunting: A Blade Shaped by Tradition
Rooted in the fighting heritage of the Philippines, the Ginunting is a traditional Filipino blade known for its distinctive profile, balance, and control. Hand-forged from high-carbon steel, the blade retains a traditional hand-forged finish, preserving natural forge marks and heat coloration that reflect its handmade origins and working character. The sharpened edge is designed for precision and responsiveness.
The handle and scabbard are carved from indigenous hardwood sourced from the Southern Philippines, prized for its rich brown color, smooth grain, and durability. The handle incorporates a traditional Visayan sculpted pommel and an ergonomic contour that settles naturally into the hand, offering a secure and confident grip.
The matching hardwood scabbard follows the blade’s natural curvature and is fitted with metal belt-clip hardware configured for left-hand draw from a right-hip carry position, a traditional setup favored in Filipino martial practice.
Agile, balanced, and efficient, the Ginunting has long been respected by practitioners of Filipino martial arts as a blade that reflects both function and tradition.
Proudly handmade in the Southern Philippines.
